Breaking: Pala 3 Fire reported in San Diego County on Jan. 27
A new wildfire was reported today at 9:43 a.m. in San Diego County. Pala 3 Fire has been burning on private land. There is currently no information on the containment of the fire and its cause has not yet been determined.

The Gilman Fire sparked around 2:30 p.m. near Gilman Drive and Via Alicante, not far from Interstate 5 and UC San Diego's campus.

Border 2 Fire initially started 1:58 p.m. Jan. 23 in San Diego County. After being active for three days, it has burned 6,625 acres. A fire crew of 2,413 effectively contained 10% of the fire by Sunday morning. The blaze's cause remains under investigation.
