ELLIS COUNTY – An innocent victim died and two people were hospitalized Thursday after Dallas police were involved in a shooting following a chase and two-vehicle crash on I-35E in Ellis County, authorities said. Officer Gabriel Bixby, 29, was off duty and traveling on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when the crash occurred about 5:20 p.m. on State Highway 276, about a mile and a half from Union Valley and close to Royse City, a small city about 30 miles east of Dallas, law enforcement officials said.
