Dragon Age, BioWare and The Veilguard
After Veilguard’s Disastrous Release, It’s Time To Make ‘Dragon Age’ Great Again
I think there is a game where you could combine the more action-based moment-to-moment combat with a great deal more tactical depth. There’s no reason a pause-play option couldn’t exist alongside the flashier melee and magic.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Support May Already Be Ending at BioWare
It seems that developer BioWare might already be done supporting Dragon Age: The Veilguard in a major way. Since launching just a few months back, BioWare has been quick to push out additional updates for the newest Dragon Age game to bring it to a better place.
It Looks Like BioWare's Done Updating Dragon Age: The Veilguard
The Veilguard was one of the most divisive releases of last year. Released on October 31, 2024, the team has released patch 5, and the messaging accompanying the patch notes sounds like ... Dragon Age: The Veilguard Patch Notes Sure Make It Sound Like BioWare’s Basically Done With the Game Now
The Veilguard developer BioWare has released a new patch for the game and in the same breath suggested it’s basically done with it less than three months after launch. As spotted by Eurogamer, Patch 5 includes just one quality-of-life improvement and a number of bug fixes,
Looks Like Dragon Age: The Veilguard Support Has Already Ended
It looks like Dragon Age: The Veilguard has received its last major update, if its patch notes are anything to go by. EA recently revealed that the game reached 1.5 million players, which is 50% less than its expectations. This has apparently led the publisher to pull the plug on post-launch support in just three months.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Patch 5 seems to be its last major update for now
BioWare says that Veilguard is in a stable place and the team will shift to 'monitor for any game-breaking bugs, should those occur.'
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Gets New Update for January 2025
BioWare is now expected to focus its full attention on the new Mass Effect game.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard's latest patch sounds like it could be the game's last big update, as BioWare says "Dareth shiral!"
"We were so happy with the game’s stability at launch and hope you have enjoyed our quality of life patches since then."
‘Dragon Age: The Veilguard’ Performed Half As Well As Expected, Says EA
A new game, particularly one ten years in the making after a GOTY-winning sequel, underperforming by a full 50% is dire. You’ll also notice from the wording there that it says “engaged” not “sold,” as this number includes those who might have played via EA Play. So sales are likely not much above a million.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Director Departs BioWare for New Project
Even so, it’s clear that the Game Director Corinne Busch is ready to move on from the project and from EA altogether, as she has officially confirmed that she will be leaving the company. As of now, no additional departures from BioWare have been announced, and this doesn’t appear to be part of a wider staffing change.
Dragon Age Veilguard significantly underperformed, may have sold less than 1.5 million copies
Dragon Age Veilguard significantly missed EA's internal targets, and its full game sales apparently delivered less than 1.5 million units on all platforms.
