After being delayed twice by the wildfires in California, the 2025 Oscar nominations have finally been announced. Wicked star Bowen Yang and Saturday Night‘s Rachel Sennott announced the nominations via a global livestream and a broadcast on Good Morning America and other major news networks.

Oscar hopefuls will find out whether they’ve made the cut when actors Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announce the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards. While the announcement typically kicks off a barrage of award-show pageantry culminating in the Oscars themselves,

“ Emilia Pérez ” leads the Oscar nods with 13 nominations, followed by “Wicked” and “The Brutalist” with 10 each. “Emilia Pérez” star Karla Sofía Gascón made history in the Best Actress category, becoming the first openly trans performer to earn a nomination.
