The Arizona Department of Public Safety said they arrested a tractor-trailer driver suspected of smuggling millions of dollars worth of cocaine from California. The arrest was made on Monday after a trooper initiated a traffic stop of a Volvo tractor-trailer on eastbound Interstate 49 in Holbrook for civil traffic violations.
A Volvo tractor-trailer Monday headed eastbound on Interstate 40 in Holbrook, Arizona with 553.8 pounds of cocaine hidden inside the produce load.
DPS officials say the drugs seized during the traffic stop is estimated to have a street value of up to $22.1 million.
NAVAJO COUNTY, Ariz. — Millions of dollars worth of cocaine was seized from a truck driver in Arizona during a traffic stop, according to officials. Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers made the massive drug bust during a traffic stop in Navajo County, the law enforcement agency said.
The truck driver was arrested by a DPS trooper in northern Arizona after more than 550 pounds of cocaine was found.
