Security detail for former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci, has been nixed

President Donald Trump has ended the government security detail for Dr. Anthony Fauci, his chief medical adviser during much of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.

President Trump ended the federal security detail of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the infectious disease expert who advised Trump on the COVID-19 pandemic and turned critical of him once Trump tried to undermine public health guidance.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is the latest in a string of former Trump aides-turned-critics to see their federal protection canceled despite ongoing threats to their lives.

Trump said he would not feel responsible if anything happened to Fauci as a result of his federal security clearances being cut.

The National Institutes of Health had funded protection for the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

In addition to Fauci, Biden also granted pardons to General Mark Milley, the Members of Congress and staff who served on the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, and the US Capitol and D.C. Metropolitan police officers who testified before the Select Committee.

The president removed the security detail that has protected the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
