No. 17 North Carolina fell 76-66 to No. 3 Notre Dame on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025, at Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill, N.C. Senior Maria Gakdeng led the Tar Heels with 16 points. Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo and Olivia Miles knocked down five three-point baskets apiece.

On Sunday afternoon, the No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish travel south to Chapel Hill, NC to face the No. 17 North Carolina Tar Heels. It’s the first game for either side in a week, giving the time for both sides to rest and relax over the final week of the 2024 calendar.

Hannah Hidalgo scored 18 of her 24 points before halftime while No. 3 Notre Dame knocked down 13 3-pointers to beat No. 17 North Carolina 76-66 on Sunday.
