Porsche Taycan GTS set an impressive Guinness World Record at one of Porsche's most epic locations for driving near the Arctic Circle.

On January 14, 2025, the Porsche Taycan officially secured its fourth Guinness World Record title. The Taycan GTS drifted 132 laps in controlled oversteer, covering 17.503 km (10.87 miles) in just 46 minutes.

On January 14, 2025, a Porsche Taycan GTS drifted on ice for 17.503 kilometers — or, in America units, 10.87 miles. That long, long powerslide was enough to earn the Taycan it a Guinness world record title for the longest continuous vehicle drift on ice by an electric vehicle.

To secure this record for Porsche, driving instructor Jens Richter was behind the wheel of a Taycan GTS. Slippin’ and slidin’ a torque-rich, driver-focused car around on ice sounds like a simple task,

The Taycan GTS has two electric motors and all-wheel drive, making 690 horsepower. Porsche tracked the car's distance through GPS while also logging speed, braking, and throttle.

In Finland, a production Porsche Taycan GTS drifted for 17.5km non-stop. A world record for an electric car! The driver at the wheel carried out his drifting laps on the frozen track of a test center.

In total, the £117,500 Taycan EV was travelling sideways for 46 minutes - equivalent to have a football match. But it could have carried on for longer had it not been for one
